Potter Dana Brandwein Oates has a friend who keeps bees at Meili Farm just down the road from her studio. Her friend gave her the element that she puts into the hives to get the bees started making honeycombs thinking the honeycomb pattern might be interesting in clay. She was right and now the Honeycomb Collection of porcelain and stoneware tabletop pieces is one of dbO Home's most popular. Approx 3",2",1" Dana designed this little set of bowls for a top chef and now they are one of my most favorite and one of her most popular pieces. Great for salts, sushi set up, jewelry and yes dipping sauces. Honeycomb is rolled into the clay and hand cut and form so no two are alike.
